Vita M.Sc. Martin Zickler
He studied Human Biology, majoring in Infection Biology at the Philipps University in Marburg. His completed his Bachelor and Master thesis at the Institute of Virology under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Andrea Maisner in the group "Nipah virus infection and protein transport". There, he worked on the influence of species-specific differences in ephrin expression on the Nipah virus mediated cell-cell fusion. In April of 2016 he joined the Beling group on cardial infection biology and immunology at the Institute of Biochemistry at the Charité university hospital in Berlin as a member of the ZIBI graduate school. His doctoral thesis aims to decipher the effector functions of the ISG15 system in the context of enterovirus infections.
